Dr. Kasra Karamlou is a podiatric physician and surgeon specializing in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree in neurobiology from the University of Cincinnati and went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center, the Cleveland VA Medical Center, and University Hospitals, gaining extensive experience across a wide spectrum of foot and ankle pathology.
Dr. Karamlou’s expertise includes minimally invasive surgery (MIS), arthroscopy, and diabetic limb salvage. He is skilled in advanced MIS bunion procedures that allow for smaller scars and shorter recovery times. While he is trained in complex reconstructive techniques, his philosophy is to treat patients like family, prioritizing conservative measures whenever possible and recommending surgery only when absolutely necessary. He is actively engaged in research with Cleveland Clinic, with forthcoming publication in the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery, and he currently performs surgery at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Karamlou enjoys an active lifestyle and values balance between work and personal life. He often takes his husky on long hikes, spends time with friends playing pool, and appreciates the art of stand-up comedy. His professional dedication combined with his personal passions reflects his well-rounded approach to both patient care and life.
